THE SOUND OF DARKNESS
Winner of Tangerine Entertainment Fellowship for 2017 Stowe Story Labs
Selected for 2017 NY Stage & Film
And one of ten projects selected for AMC Network's inaugural Shudder Labs, and the 2016 Meryl Streep Writer's Lab.
The film is based on the fact that 64,000 Black women and girls are missing in the U.S. No one is paying attention and the media is not helping to find them.
THE SOUND OF DARKNESS is a supernatural thriller about a Blind Afro Cuban musician and a Deaf Black American sculptor are haunted by a woman only they can see and hear, who leads them into a fight against an evil legacy of racial violence to save a missing girl.
With a grant from Shudder Labs, I directed a short 15-minute Proof of Concept from the feature script (currently in post-production).
I am partnering with the Black and Missing Foundation to raise awareness through the film.

THE BLACK AND MISSING FOUNDATION
"In 2014, 239,593 people of color in the U.S. went missing — that was 37 percent of all missing person cases, according to the FBI.
That staggering fact is chilling — but it’s also what fuels the work Natalie Wilson and her sister-in-law Derrica Wilson have dedicated their time to. They founded the Black and Missing Foundation in 2008 and have since worked with families, the media and law enforcement to locate missing persons of color."
